I don’t know about you, but the bathroom is one of my favorite places in the house. A place where I can relax, take care of myself, skincare and take a break from my daily commitments. What if I told you that with just a few tricks you can turn it into a real spa?
Here are all the tips for creating a peaceful and relaxing environment that will make you feel like you are in a luxurious spa.
Dim lights for a relaxing effect
First, let’s focus on light to create a spa effect. Opt for soft, warm light bulbs and always try to take advantage of natural light. To create the right atmosphere, you can also use scented candles. Fragrances such as lavender and vanilla can help reduce stress and anxiety but you can choose whichever one you prefer!
But what is decluttering? You may have heard of it a few times from bloggers and style consultants. Decluttering generally means discarding in one’s closet, selecting the pieces we want to give away, those to be trashed, and those we want to continue using instead. I assure you that you can do it in your bathroom too, but let’s go step by step.
Check the PAO of all your products, creams, oils, make-up, everything and throw away anything that has expired. By rearranging all the products in beauty organizers, your bathroom will instantly become tidier and more beautiful.
On the bathroom shelves keep only the products you use on a daily basis, a cleanser, a serum and a cream will suffice, and if you have not yet adopted essential skincare, I recommend reading this article !
Let’s move on to the shower (or bathtub) I’m sure you too have shampoo and various types of bubble bath, not to mention packets of conditioner, mask and scrub. A multitude of plastics and colors, not exactly ideal for a spa…
Buy dark containers with labels; they will make your shower immediately look better and neater. Pour your favorite products inside the containers, and once they are finished you can buy refills and reduce packaging.
True spa details
It wouldn’t be a real spa if there weren’t terrycloth slippers, super-soft white bathrobes, and towels rolled up in a basket. Here’s what you need. Roll up some towels in a basket so they are always neatly on hand. Treat yourself to a terrycloth bathrobe, choose a nice soft and fluffy one, and don’t forgo white slippers.
If you have a bathtub, don’t forget to buy a wooden tray, you can use it to rest your books on during a relaxing bath.
Finally, don’t forget to add the last details, such as seedlings and eucalyptus branches in the shower that purify the air and create a relaxing atmosphere.
Now you just need to choose your favorite relaxing playlist and enjoy your own personal spa!
